The Index Server ships as a self-contained tarball (server binary + embedded engine + config + install scripts) for Linux arm64 and amd64. Everything below is served over HTTPS from index-server.searchblox.com and stored in the public searchai-index-server release bucket.

recommended · Linux · systemd
curl -fsSL https://index-server.searchblox.com/install | sudo bash
Detects your architecture, downloads the matching tarball, unpacks it, installs a systemd service on port 9200, and waits for /health. Then point any OpenSearch client at http://<host>:9200. Full steps in the Getting Started guide. Driving it from Claude or another AI agent? Enable the MCP listener.

Direct downloads

Each tarball is self-contained: bin/ + lib/ (the embedded engine runtime for that platform) + conf/ + deploy/ scripts + a run.sh launcher.

Verify a download before running it, e.g. sha256sum -c searchai-index-server-1.3.1-linux-amd64.tar.gz.sha256. Alpine/musl builds are not published.

macOS & Windows

Native macOS and Windows installers are not published for this product. The supported path on those platforms is Docker (Docker Desktop) or a local Linux VM (Lima, UTM, WSL2) — the OpenSearch REST API and any client work from your normal tooling either way. See the Getting Started guide for the container and VM steps.
